KCMOCO. Candle Care Tips

TRIM YOUR WICK.

EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. IDEAL LENGTH IS 1/4 INCH.

Why?  Too-tall wicks are trouble…uneven burn, weird mushrooming tops, carbon-soot buildup on  jars.  No good.  Trim em’ back, to 1/4 inch before every use to prevent  that  mess.

GET A POOL.

ALWAYS BURN YOUR CANDLE UNTIL IT HAS MELTED ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE TOP.

Why?   Wax has a memory. By allowing enough burn time for the candle to form a ¼ inch deep “wax pool”, all the way across the top,  you’re teaching the candle where and how to melt in the future. This prevents tunneling (that nasty habit where the middle portion of a candle melts down quickly while the outer edge stays in its original unmelted form)

USE THE RIGHT TOOL.

USE LONG CANDLE LIGHTERS OR MATCHES & WICK TRIMMERS FOR EASE OF USE AND OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE.

Why?   Using long candle lighters or matches makes for easy lighting, especially on taller jars like our KC & Classic Collections. Wick trimmers help you get down inside jars to create an evenly trimmed 1/8" wick in between uses.

NEVER  MORE  THAN  4.

NEVER BURN YOUR CANDLE FOR MORE THAN 4 HOURS AT A TIME.

Why?   Letting your candle burn for too long isn’t safe. The container it is housed in can get too hot. The wick can become unstable, causing the flame to grow too large which results in a mushrooming top with soot, uneven burn, and discolored wax.
